THE INFLUENCE OF BUDGETING PRACTICES ON ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE
The objectives of this research are to: (1) analyze the impact of budgeting practices on organizational culture, (2) identify key budgeting practices that influence culture, and (3) evaluate the benefits and challenges of integrating budgeting with organizational culture. A survey design was chosen to gather data from HR managers and financial planners. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 377 participants from manufacturing firms in Kano was determined, ensuring comprehensive insights. The manufacturing sector was chosen for its structured financial processes and potential for cultural impact. The reliability coefficient score of the survey was 0.86. Findings indicate that effective budgeting practices significantly influence organizational culture by promoting financial discipline, enhancing transparency, and fostering a culture of accountability. Recommendations include integrating cultural considerations into budgeting processes, providing training on the impact of budgeting on culture, and continuously monitoring and adjusting budgets to support a positive organizational culture.
